Meet the 2025 Bridge

Chris Bueter Blue
Commodore Chris Bueter

My name is Chris Bueter, and I am proud to be your 2025 Commodore. My wife Gretchen (GiGi) and I have been married for over 39 years and we have one son and four grandchildren that range in age from 22 to 14. We have been members of BPYC since we bought our home on the peninsula in 2018.

We come from a family of past Bridge members at BPYC. My Aunt Kathy and Uncle Ed (who recently passed) have both been past bridge members with both serving as Commodores of BPYC and I am proud to follow in their footsteps. I also serve as the BPYC Law Director in addition to my Commodore responsibilities.

My wife is a retired K-8 principal from the Toledo Public Schools and since 2020, I have been a “semi-retired” Human Resources and Labor Relations consultant after more than 35 years of HR and Labor roles at both Dana Incorporated and First Solar Inc. We are both proud alumni of the University of Toledo several times over!

This is my third and final year on the Bridge and my responsibilities this year have evolved to overall Bridge leadership insuring that all parts of our club experience – current member satisfaction and engagement, new member recruitment and retention and club property management and improvement – meld together to create one memorable club experience for all our BPYC members. I am truly fortunate to have a Bridge, an Executive Committee, and a network of Past Commodores and club members to work with that deeply value these components of the club experience as well.  I am looking forward to a wonderful 2025 season here at the Bay Point Yacht Club.

Dan Fortman Blue

Vice Commodore Dan Fortman

I’m Dan Fortman and I am honored to be in the Vice Commodore position for the incredible Bay Point Yacht Club, where we have been active members since 2019.  My wife, Lynn, and I have been married for over 46 years and have four children, three boys and one girl as well as three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Our main home is in Shelby and our fun home is in Marblehead.  During our active boating years, beginning in the late ‘90’s, we had been members of Bay Point Marina.  Currently, our boating is down in Florida during the winter along the ICW, however, we’ve enjoyed traveling internationally while participating in small ship cruising and sailing.

As a member of the Mansfield Power Squadron (MPS), an affiliate of the United States Power Squadron, since 1998, I have held many bridge positions, serving as Squadron Commander for two terms and performing the duties of Safety Officer for 18 years.  Having limited boating experience, MPS offered free classes such as seamanship, piloting, navigation, marine maintenance, weather, etc., where I was able to achieve the educational status of Senior Navigator- which means I know how to use a sextant and a very sharp pencil, with eraser!  I have been honored to share this knowledge with others as a part of my BPYC involvement as the club’s Safety and Education Officer.  However, I leave you in good hands under the skills of USCG Certified Captain Catherine Hubbs, who has helped with our successful Women on the Water Program with Captain Norleena Poynter.

I have retired from Eagle Crusher Company in 2019 and have held positions in manufacturing from factory management from supervisor to General Manager and in Human Resources from manager to Vice-president.  I was the chairman of many groups over the years such as Shelby Chamber of Commerce, CUE, and Crawford County Business/Education Advisory Board.  My goal is to use my past involvement to enhance the experience of all BPYC members.

John Plenzler Blue
Rear Commodore John Plenzler

My name is John Plenzler, and I am honored to serve as the Rear Commodore for the Bay Point Yacht Club’s 2025 season. My wife, Wendy, and I have been married for 34 years and have been members of BPYC since 2020. We are the proud parents of our son, Austin, who has been happily married to his wife, Ty, since 2018.  We were also blessed with our first grandson, Brooks, who just turned one in January 2025.

In 2022, Wendy and I realized a lifelong dream of living in Marblehead, OH, when we built a home and moved to the area.  We love having a dock at the end of our street and enjoy spending as much time as possible on the water. We appreciate all the amenities the area has to offer in the spring and summer, as well as the peaceful, slower pace of life in the fall and winter months.

I am a full-time Director of Human Resources, supporting five North American production plants for International Motors, Inc.  I work remotely from home when I’m not traveling to support the production plants, which I visit 2 to 3 weeks per month.  I have been working in the automotive industry for over 30 years, and it continues to keep me on my toes, to say the least.

I’m looking forward to becoming more involved in the club and getting to know more of our wonderful members.  As I take on the responsibilities of Rear Commodore, I will be seeking help and guidance in maintaining our beautiful clubhouse and grounds.  I’m excited to collaborate with the Bridge, the Executive Committee, and all our members to make this season a fantastic one!

Linda Peebles Blue
Secretary Linda Peebles

I am pleased and proud to be the Secretary for Bay Point Yacht Club for the 2025 term.  I look forward to continuing the efforts to keep BPYC a great club!  I will be recording the minutes from our meetings which are then posted to our website under Documents for your review.

I am a retired School Psychologist while my husband is retired from a major elevator company.  We live in the Toledo area where we have lived for most of our lives.  We also lived in the Chicago area for a number of years.
My husband and I have been long time cruisers on the Great Lakes.  We have enjoyed many ports and yacht clubs throughout the years of our boating experiences.

I am also the webmaster for our club's website and for the group page on Facebook (Bay Point Yacht Club).  If you have any questions, either about the club, the website or Facebook, please let me know.  I am most willing to assist you.

Sue Crawford Blue
Treasurer Sue Crawford

My name is Sue Crawford and I am honored to be the 2025 BPYC Treasurer where we have been active members since 2021.  My husband Ron and I have been married for 41 years and have two children and two grandchildren.  We have been visiting Marblehead since 1985 and became summer residents of Marblehead in 1990 and spent every weekend every summer with our children on our boat, in the lake, and playing at the beach.  We raised our family in Westlake and moved permanently to Marblehead in 2016.  Ron and I retired in 2015 after 35+ years each at Energizer as a senior technologist and at NASA Lewis as the Agency Lead Budget Analyst for the $90M Aeronautics, Fixed Wing Program.  I look forward to assisting the Bridge in providing budgetary information for the Club.

Lynn Majce Blue

Past Commodore Lynn Majce

My name is Lynn Majce and I was proudly the 2024 Commodore of the Bay Point Yacht Club.
I am married to P/C Joe Majce (2011) and have one daughter, Lisa who lives in Willoughby, Ohio with her service dog, Tahiti.  We are permanent residents of Marblehead, living directly behind the club house.

Come to your club and enjoy your summer home away from home.
