Meet the Bridge

Commodore Ray Ditmar
Welcome.  Lady Linda & I are pleased to have the opportunity to serve as Commodore for 2020.  We both share a life long love of boating and life on or near the water.

We enjoy BPYC Cruises and extended trips on our own. 2019 took us on a 4-week adventure to Buffalo N.Y. and back aboard our boat, “ALLEGRO”. My goal for 2020 is to keep boating, water safety and deep sense of respect for our country at the forefront of our club. Examples are; BPYC Memorial Day Service, in association with Bay Point Resort and Marina, Ohio Safe Boating Class, and Women on the Water. We welcome you to come, visit and learn more about BPYC.

Vice Commodore Michael Wegrzyn
Ahoy! From The Vice Commodore Michael Wegrzyn. I would like to introduce myself and my wife, Becky. We are full time residents of Marblehead. Kind of retired, kind of not.

We live on Bayshore Rd. just down from the clubhouse. If you are on the deck of the clubhouse and looking at the big house just past the cabins next door, this is our home. We lovingly named it “The Stupid Big House” because it just is stupid big. But we love it and Marblehead. All are welcome to come visit anytime.

I was a commercial pilot, now retired from that and started a business in 2014. We own all the VAPORS Vape Shops And all The CBD Dispensaries here in NW Ohio.  keeps us busy.

I am also into Electronics and Ham Radio. And, of course Boating and Jet Skiing. Love summer and the lake.

We moved here in November of 2017 from Catawba. Living on the water full time is great, most of the time, lol. We are truly blessed to be here and members of BPYC. See you at the Club or On The Water!

Rear Commodore Glenna Plotts

I am honored to serve as your Rear Commodore for the 2020 Boating Season.  My husband, P/C Don Plotts, and I live in Mount Gilead, Ohio on Candlewood Lake.  We enjoy boating on Lake Erie on the weekends and on our small lake during the week.  It has been great serving side-by-side with Don these last three years as he progressed through the BPYC Bridge.  During our time as members at Bay Point Yacht Club we have enjoyed great friendships, fun social events/activities, exciting cruises and informative boating education classes.

As Rear Commodore, my duties are to oversee the physical building and grounds to make sure they are ready for the enjoyment of our membership.  This includes organizing the maintenance of the property and cleaning of the clubhouse.  This job would be impossible without the many members who help to make sure the building and grounds are always ready for member use.

Since we have moved into our location on Bayshore Road, there have been many improvements to our property and clubhouse thanks to the donations and hard work of our members. To continue these efforts, I will be working with the Capital Improvement Committee, Bridge and membership to complete Capital Improvements as prioritized by our membership.

Treasurer P/C Errol English
Greetings everyone! I am very happy to be your Treasurer again this year. My First Mate Debbie and I have been members of BPYC since 1997. I was on the Bridge back in 2000 through 2004 when I was the Treasurer for two consecutive years before progressing up through the ranks to C
ommodore in 2004. Debbie and I have a 34ft. Luhrs, the "Deborah Lou II" on Dock N-19 in Bay Point Marina. Please drop by for a visit anytime!

We live near Bellbrook, Ohio and are very proud of our two adult daughters, their devoted husbands, and our seven wonderful grandchildren. I am a graduate of North Carolina State University, as well as The Ohio State University. I currently own and operate a small engineering company in the Dayton area.

Debbie and I look forward to another great year at BPYC - the 50th year for the Club, and the 23th year for Debbie and me. We have loved this club ever since our very first year.

Becky W
Secretary Becky Wegrzyn
Welcome to BPYC. I am honored to be the club's secretary for the next 2 years.
My husband, Michael, your Vice Commodore, and I live within sight view of the clubhouse. I grew up being on Catawba since I was 2. Thus, Lake Erie is in my blood.  We are permanent residents of Marblehead.

As secretary, I will be keeping notes of all Executive and Regular meetings.  The regular meeting notes will then be put on the website.

I look forward to another wonderful year as a member of BPYC and doing what I can to advance our club.

Past Commodore Donald Plotts

I am the immediate Past Commodore for the BPYC Yacht Club and look forward to a great year.  My first mate Glenna has supported me with my past bridge roles and now I look forward to work for her as she will be the Rear Commodore this year.

We live in Candlewood Lake near Mount Gilead and enjoy the water during the week with pontoon and fishing boats.  On the weekends we enjoy Lake Erie with a 2001 31pc Formula and keep it at C-31 in the Bay Point Resort and Marina.  I have been a long-time member of the Mansfield Power Squadron and enjoy working with new boaters to help them develop their nautical skills.

We have enjoyed the members of the yacht club and always look forward to a new season.  This year is no exception as we have a great bridge who will make sure their members have fun.  Have a great year!
